Computer games and 3D graphics continue to increase in quality and become more realistic with high resolution texturing and Physically Based Rendering (PBR). This often requires artists to create textures coupled with surface information (ie "materials") or return to older assets to enhance them prior to release. This is a time consuming process.
NVIDIA is a world leader in computer graphics and a pioneer in the field of Deep Learning. NVIDIA's Developer Technologies engineers have worked closely with NVIDIA Research to develop tools which enhance games and graphics whilst speeding development times. This is an ongoing project that will continue for years and encompass all aspects of game development. At GDC 2017, NVIDIA is proud to announce beta access to the first offering of the following tools.
NVIDIA is offering early access to the GWMT tools for 3D app and game developers.
Allows the user to get a 2x or 4x increase in resolution of textures and photos.
Takes a texture or photo as input and provides the user with an organic variation.
Using two photos of a real surface, generates diffuse, normals, specular and gloss maps.
